Madison Mohawks break top 15 in 2009 Associated Press Poll

The first Associated Press Poll of the year is out and made quite an impact for one local team. When the Madison High School boy's basketball team read the results they were overjoyed when they saw that their team was ranked in the top 15 of the associated Press Poll!

The Mohawks placed as the number 13 ranked team in all of Ohio for division III basketball. A little bit of pressure for the team whose record currently stands at 8 wins and 1 loss. Head Coach Jeff Smith however, says that this rank is a positive pressure for his team. "We are very excited, now we have to step up and earn that kind of respect. I hope our kids use it as the right motivation."

The Middletown Middies are also ranked in The Associated Press standings as the number 9 team in the state of Ohio.
